Postpartum sex…. Did it hurt???

I know it’s different for everyone, but please share your experience if it took a longer time than “average” for you to enjoy sex again after birth. I had no tearing and yet 5months pp I have increased sensation of pain and no sensation of pleasure with sex :(. I would love to hear any stories of your healing if it also took a while. I feel like I’m broken 😔

8wks pp, and yes it hurts. However I did have a 2nd degree tear and the pain is more of a tight burn that hurts more the deeper my husband goes

I think we waited 5 weeks pp? We took it reaaaaal slowwww. It took some getting used to but was ok. He was gentle lol

It shouldn’t hurt if you wait the approximate time before having sex again which is usually 6 wks ! And if it does hurt then your not healed yet all way and wait additional weeks before having sex again!

We got the okay at 6 weeks to have sex but it was way too painful for me. We tried again 3 times in two week intervals but I couldn’t manage until about 12 weeks pp. And it took time for it to start feeling legit good again.

Didn't hurt at all. 2 weeks after c section and I basically jumped my husband both times.

I waited 3 months and it hurt for a long time.

All 4 of my boys so far I waited until around a month after having them and I couldn’t wait anymore, the first couple times with 2 of them hurt a little bit but after a few more day’s recovery after first time was back to normal (ish). This time I’m waiting longer because I’m getting fixed also

If you’re breastfeeding, then it usually gets dry in the vagina because of different hormones during breastfeeding. It can therefore cause pain. If you still want to try, take things slow, use lube, relax and don’t pressure yourself. There are different kind of ways to have sex, so enjoy yourself as long as you’re feeling okay.
