Positive after misscariage 7 weeks ago

Is this normal i had a miscarriage jan6 and went to drs 2 weeks after was told the preg test was still very dark so take another dose of pills to miscarry did that and then my doc told me at the appointment yesterday on the phone to take a home preg test that it should be negative at this point ?!
