Stripping Membranes Induces Labor?

Question

I’m 38 weeks 2 days, I’m pretty positive we will strip membranes today. I’m 4cm 50% -2 and hoping this will help get things started! (3rd baby)

It’s so crazy how far dilated we can be but no contractions? Are you contracting at all? Sorry if that’s random! This is my second and I was induced with my first unnecessarily so I’m hoping my body does what it needs to this time.

I put no but I wasn’t induced. It just didn’t work for me. I ended up going into labor about 7-8 days later (my water was leaking).

Mine got stripped but I had to have a scheduled 2nd C-section regardless and I was in deed having contractions shortly after my mucus plug came out.

After 39 weeks with both my kids I went into labour the next day. Wondering if I do it after 38 weeks this time will it work lol

It didn't work for me with my first two and I declined it for my third and will again for my fourth. Went into spontaneous labor though despite two scheduled inductions, my fetuses just like to be prompt. I'm not attributing that to the sweep because it was several days after with my second and I never got swept with my third.
