A simmer pot. Get a small pot, fill with water. Add whole cloves and cinnamon sticks. Put it on the stove on low. It smells amazing. You can let it cool and use it as a non toxic room spray too. Keep an eye on it while the stove is on and refill the water when it gets low to prevent fires (which it will get low). It’ll keep for a couple days. If you use the cooled down mixture for a room spray store in fridge for a couple days and then toss out.You can add almost anything to these simmer pots - herbs, fruit peels, vanilla - look up more recipes online. I am trained in aromatherapy and I do not recommend using essential oils in these simmer pots or around any pets.

make sure your dogs smell good themselves, bathe them regularly. make sure they don’t pee or poop inside. clean the floors regularly, wall plug ins, diffusers, candles, if they have beds clean them regularly, keep the litter box, if you use one, in a closed area and clean it often. if you use diffusers, make sure it’s safe for dogs and cats some scents are toxic.

I use febreeze, carpet powder or carpet foam cleaner before I vaccum, I use a steam cleaner, I also have those Airwick essential oil wall plug in things throughout the place. I always get compliments of my house smelling good. I own a dog and a guinea pig. Pig cages smell worse than a litter box

I don’t use anything scented in my house besides the very occasional candle when I take a bath lol, but I still get compliments on how my home smells so my only advice is make sure things are clean. Carpets and couches are deep cleaned monthly, any other fabric (bedding, blankets, pillows, dog beds, even curtains etc) are washed weekly, dogs are bathed and brushed often also fed a high quality food which makes them smell so much better, walls get wiped weekly if not more often, vacuum/sweep/mop daily, make sure your vaccum fliter is clean, trash can and sinks need to be cleared and cleaned daily, food is cleaned up and put away immediately. Air filters and airing out the house often helps too. All the cleaning seems like a lot at first but once your in a habit of it I only really “clean” for maybe 20-30 minutes a day. Other than picking up toys from my toddler haha. If I’m feeling extra I will put a simmer pot on with citrus, apples, cinnamon, or anything else that will smell good. I do essential oils in a diffuser every once in a while. Wall plug ins, candles, and most other scented stuff are sooooo toxic and bad for you, so I try to avoid them, even the “natural non toxic stuff” are usually full of chemicals. I’d rather my home smell like a family and pets live there then fill my home with poison🤷🏻♀️

Air purifiers make a huge difference! I have 5 dogs and having an air purifier in the main living space as well as in their room (they are kenneled at night so have their own space) has made the biggest difference for me AND cuts down on dust they bring in. Lysol makes a pet sanitizing spray and i use that regularly on soft surfaces they come into contact with. I also open all the windows i can when its breezy out to air out the whole house, which helps!
