Which nappy rash cream do you use & how often?

I’m so lost. Nappy rash creams are really expensive and I’m wondering what are the alternatives to it? How often do we even use it? Every nappy change or just night time or when the baby has rash?

I use Vaseline (petroleum Jelly) as nappy cream for my baby and we have never had any rash. He will be turning 5 months soon

I use a cream with a high percentage zinc oxide, it's not this cream but you can't get mine in the US. At night I use a size bigger diaper for the and cover his bum in vaseline to protect his skin from moisture. 
After a change I pat his skin dry and use babypowder. Only with a rash I use the zinc cream. I only use diapers without bleach etc. Works like a charm this routine!

I've always used this. I only used this when they had a rash which wasn't very often so I never had to buy more than one tube per baby. I find that if you put a clean diaper on them after their butt is completely dry they don't really get rashes. So let the wetness from the baby wipes dry before putting on a clean diaper and baby shouldn't get many rashes.

We just used it overnight and applied it decently thick. My daughter is 2.5 and has only ever had diaper rash once while she was on antibiotics and had diarrhea. We just got it on Amazon and it was a decent price and lasted a long time.

We used Zarbees Diaper Ointment or this. Most diaper creams are just Zinc so you really don’t need to spend a lot. We only use it when my son actually has redness on his bum which is hardly at all so it lasts a long time.

I use this for both my twins boy/girl... I use it mainly when I see red irritation or skin chafing, definitely more often when they have a full blown diaper rash. I've tried other creams but this is what worked best and isn't pasty/sticky hard to wash off or clean off with a wipe. Doesn't have a bad smell to it either, just glides in smoothly and protects well and takes care of their delicate areas. Rash clears up within a day or two! In my experience, that's why I recommend trying it.
