Hello everyone

Just curious on something

I am upgrading my phone (it’s been a while like 4 years lol) it is another iPhone and will arrive tomorrow. My question is if I do NOT transfer my data over to my new device, but I sign in with my same Apple ID, will all that stuff come over anyway? I didn’t want to completely transfer/sync because my old phone barely has any space.

My iCloud is backed up but what I’m wondering is, if I don’t sync my entire phone to my new one and sign in on the new device with my same iCloud will all the stuff taking up space on the old phone go to the new one by just simply signing into my iCloud? (My daughter traded hers in last month and synced her entire phone to the new. I don’t want that )

I am not trading in my old device I’ll have it at home so I don’t need to necessarily transfer all photos and etc.
