Has anyone had a problem about the 3x rent rule? Where you have to make 3x the rent. I don’t work im a sahm but I still make 20 a year he makes 40 but we need to make 72k a year which is honestly ridiculous for a 2000 apartment that isn’t in the best area😑 and small. Well anyways has anyone still got approved for an apartment making under 3x he has a great credit score has a consistent job with his family owned business of welding. He gets payments on time has a nice car everything we make enough for the rent but not 3x the rent. He’s getting another job like a second job but we already filled the application out, But his second job will make us make 3x the rent. So do we tell them he’s getting a second job or what do we do?

Just to add on we need to make- 5,148 a month and we only make 4200. So it’s not 3x but 2x the rent would be around 3500 so it’s a little more then 2x rent but lower then 3x. The rent is 1716 a month but you have to pay for garbage and all that.
