Has anyone been induced at 36 weeks with no nicu stay?

I have GD/Preeclampsia/chronic hypertension and my doctors have mentioned induction at 36 weeks. Has anyone been induced previously at 36 weeks and can tell me how their experience was? Nicu stay? Shot to develop lungs? Baby perfect? I’m really nervous…

With Baby #3 my water broke at 36 weeks and he was perfectly healthy other than having jaundice and being on photo light therapy for 36hours.. I know this is not the case for everyone as we are all different!

All depends on the baby. More than likely no, but in some cases yes. If there is NICU time involved it should be brief.

I had my son at 36 weeks and he didn’t have to stay in the nicu but he did have jaundice and had issues feeding at first but we were told to feed him with a syringe instead of a bottle until he could latch

Ok so from experience (currently in the hospital at 35 weeks 4 days). The sooner you have the baby the likelihood of nicu. So for example my baby if i have him now he would need nicu time as yes i am 35 weeks and some odd days but he would be born functioning more like 33 weeks. I had to have the shot for developing his lungs which is a 24 hr hospital stay itself. I also had a 37 week old who needed phototherapy for 24 hours she also had issues at first drinking as well due to functioning like a 35 weeks (if that makes sense). She didnt need nicu time though as after the first time figuring out how to drink she was ok but at first she didnt understand the concept of sucking.

I was induced at 36 weeks 1 day with my 3rd baby because i had icp with him he was in nicu for 3 days he had some fluid in his lungs He was on cpap the first day and a half then his eating was an issue ill be induced this time as well because i have icp again but aiming for 37 weeks if possible and will be asking for shots for his lungs to be safe this time i definitely recommnd asking for them.to.be safe
