Is house flipping for profit ethical?

De

I’ve been in a health crisis recently so I’ve been watching a lot of tv while I rest. There are hundreds and hundreds of shows about house flipping. People will buy old, disrepaired homes and flip them to resell for a higher price so they can pocket the money. Do you think this practice is in some ways unethical? My thought is that by taking these homes and selling them for thousands more, they’re hopping up the prices on the homes around them, making the market more and more unaffordable. Some homes are not dilapidated or unlivable, they’re just old and dated. They act like old wooden cabinets are just horrific. But a low income family could possibly afford a home in that state. They can’t when these flippers come around and purchase these homes and start doing all these upscale trendy improvements. Thoughts?
