FTM- vent

Hi! FTM here, my baby girl is almost a month & honestly struggling to keep reminding people that that shes a newborn. Everyone is expecting us to leave the house & go to birthday parties (she was a week old) & she got overly stimulated from family passing her around like a doll. Or just always inviting us over instead of them coming to us ( 2 weeks old). At 3 weeks old- 3 of my husbands cousins who were begging to meet her finally came over only to see her a second before it turned into social hour for FOUR+hours because hey- thats what every parent with a newborn needs, adult time. Now shell be 4 weeks tomorrow & his parents are expecting us to drive 14+ hours to their mountain house or get on a plane. My MIL admitted that she didnt leave the house the first 2 months yet im over here with my almost 4 week old, still healing from an unexpected c section, like why would you expect me to leave my house yet again?! I might be overreacting but its really bugging me that i have to keep reminding people her age & that im still recovering. Maternity leave isnt "party time" or at least for me
