This has to get better or our cat has to go!

Please help

We got a cat 5 months ago and he is wonderful with our 2year old toddler. He is so patient and so gentle with him. He hasn’t scratched him once even though our kid can be rough with him.

BUT he doesn’t sleep at night, constantly mowing or going crazy all over the apartment and that usually ends up waking us, especially my husband who is light sleeper and our kid and it sucks for everyone.

My husband has officially had it with him and said it has to stop or the cat goes.

It would break our harts to do that especially since my son adores him and they are together all the time everywhere.

My husband also doesn’t want to give him up but at this point where we could be sleeping all night uninterrupted (after having a baby finally) our cat is constantly waking us up.

He thinks at night is the perfect time to knock everything over and meow constantly.

We close the door to our sons bedroom but he will sit in front of the door and meow because he likes sleeping with our son but he will also spontaneously go crazy and start playing and wake him up.

He is not yet neutered. Our vet told ous to do it when he is around a year old.

Would that help?

I never had a cat, I had a dog and my dog slept all night with me. So I am lost.

I really want it to work out with him. We don’t want to just give him up especially if this could be solved somehow???
