Idk what to do

Me and my boyfriend are about to move into a place and have a baby soon, he had a friend for a couple years I think 2 while he was living in a different state well I didn’t know him when they were friends well when he moved down here a couple months after his friend died while driving drunk and doing drugs and everything. Well my boyfriend wants this like crazy tattoo of his like birthday and death date and like a portrait kinda and it’s over 500 it’s basically a sleeve, we are super tight on money like we can’t buy anything that we want almost. But we are moving and we need to buy everything for a new house since we both live with parents and only have bedroom stuff. And we still need to buy so much for a baby. I feel bad about his friend dying and was there for him when he died, but I don’t know why he can’t wait a month or 2 to get it till we are a little more situated in a house because this tattoo realistically will cost 800-900 dollars which idk. We share bank account as well. What do I do or just do I not do anything
