My boyfriend has a habit of rambling about his interests a LOT. I like hearing about his hobbies & passions but sometimes I’m not in the mood and he doesn’t pick up on the cues. I don’t want to tell him to stop talking or put him off but sometimes he’ll talk about the same thing for 15 minutes straight without me saying anything other than ‘ok’ or ‘yeah’ every 30 seconds. Even if I try to interject or say more he seems impatient for me to shut up so he can keep talking. It’s kinda draining. If I talk about anything that interests me he shows little to no interest and won’t ask follow up questions.

He mansplains a lot too and sometimes it’s about things that he KNOWS I know because it’s related to my job or is something I’ve spoken about before. And even if it’s not something he’s aware I know, I’d rather him ask me before launching into a massive lecture and wasting both our time. It’s really irritating and I can feel it affecting the way I feel about him in general. I don’t know what to do.
