I unfortunately have oral and genital HSV 1. My husband has oral HSV 1 too but no outbreak. I’m currently having an outbreak in my mouth and took antiviral meds when my doctor told me. I’m so naive never knew it could happen in the mouth always just thought on the lip or mouth. My question is should I be concerned if I have a current outbreak, husband accidentally drank from my straw a few nights ago (this would be the only saliva exchange in the last 2 weeks) and he used a bit of his saliva last night to get me wet for a quickie could I experience an outbreak in my genital area? I did shower after sex, not sure if that will help.
