What are the chances mental abuse can turn into physical?? Is there typically a time frame to that?

Would you consider mental abuse such as driving insane after another driver made you mad and sped up to catch up with them with your family in the car? Or purposefully ignoring you when you ask them a question? Or locking you out of your home after your argued about going to the dollar tree for over 3 hours and he finally lets you go get sponges? Or getting so mad while working on a project car that he takes a piece of long metal while you and your baby are standing right there beside him and throws it as hard as he can at the back window of his truck..
