Is it rare to get pregnant using a condom?

Question

I had protected sex on my fertile days and my partner checked by squeezing the condoms. Nothing came out but I’m anxious thinking that isn’t the right way to check

I wouldn’t say it’s “rare”.. it definitely happens to people all the time.. however I would also say it’s not very likely. When condoms fail at preventing pregnancy, it’s usually due to human error.

Well I’ve been using condoms only for about ten years now and never once had an issue.

I got pregnant once when I was like 31 or 32 using a condom because it slipped and broke … had only been dating the guy for like 2-3 months at the time, so obviously this was a problem. 
I’ll be totally honest though and say that I’m not 100% sure HE didn’t slip it, as he was one to always be asking to go without. And in the heat of things, it’s often difficult to see/know about small moves. (See: the scene in “I Will Destroy You” where her causal partner waits til he’s getting it from behind & takes off the condom without her knowing) 
I’ll second what many others have said here already: condoms can absolutely fail, but when they do, it’s most often because the humans didn’t use them correctly and/or aren’t checking expiration dates, so they’re more brittle and break easier.

I’ve used only condoms over 100+ fertile cycles and have gotten pregnant over 0 of them. And I am very fertile.

Let me help you with this question. I was sleeping with a friend at the time. We use protection every time but there’s one time I guess the juices was flowing very heavy, and the condom came off. ￼ Of course I had to go up there and retrieve the condom. Three months later I was pregnant. ￼

It’s not rare but if they’re used correctly it’s not very likely. Usually mishaps happen if they’re not used properly, but they do also occasionally break or otherwise malfunction. I had one come off inside me once, but I think that was largely because my ex didn’t stop after he ejaculated, his erection  started to go down so the condom came off. So yeah, they’re definitely not fool-proof.
