Nail salon question

I am in my 20s and I have NEVER gotten my nails done at a nail salon. I know, sounds crazy lol.

I wasn’t very girly when I was a kid. But now as an adult, I love makeup and getting my hair done.

I’m going on vacation soon and I want to get my nails does. I have very short nails because I bite them 🙄 but I would like to get fake nails that are slightly longer and I would want them to be a light pink color.

I have tried press on nails that I bought from target, idk if I apply them wrong, but a couple always comes off the first or second day. So I would like to get them done at the salon so they last my entire vacation.

What do you I ask for at the salon? And any advice. ???
