What does it mean?

Sorry for the long post.
I am 14 weeks 4 days pregnant.
I kept having brown discharge on and off for a few weeks. Last Saturday the discharge looked more red/pinky colour mixed in with discharge- as a one off. Sunday it was normal again. Then Monday I have had dark brown discharge as a one off. Tuesday morning I went to the toilet and when I wiped there was bright pink/red discharge- one off. I got worried so called the midwife line (UK based) and the midwife told me to come in and be triaged. 
I went in and had my blood pressure checked, the specialist did a scan to see if everything is okay- got to see the moving baby. The specialist said that the placenta is a bit low, but at this moment in time where everything is so small she said I have to wait  as the placenta can change positions as the pregnancy progresses and told me that my little bleeds might be due to the position of my placenta- but yet again she didn’t tell me if that this might be definitely a reason for my one off discharges. I got told to wait for my 20 week scan which is in 5 weeks. She also said if my bleeds are persistent or get heavier to come back. 
Should I be worried? 
What does it mean that my placenta is too low?

I had the same issue and went in for an appointment and ultrasound. They did a normal ultrasound but then tried the internal one to get a better look at my cervix and placenta. It showed that my placenta is covering my cervix (complete placenta previa). It may move but is less likely to than someone who has a low lying placenta or partial previa. They told me to go on pelvic rest (NOTHING in the vagina, no orgasms, no exercise except walking). It did stop the spotting after several days. My ultrasound was at 13w due to the spotting. My next one at 20w. If I were you, I’d call and ask for an internal ultrasound to check if your cervix is covered OR just put yourself on pelvic rest like I mentioned above and tell them to check at your 20w one. However, they told me if I have a gush of blood, more red than light brown or brown, or severe cramping to call immediately.

Answer

Could be a tear in the placenta. They found mine around 11 weeks. They heal on their own. It’s called a subchrionic hematoma. I had brown spotting all the way up until about the end of week 16. Now, it’s completely stopped. I’ll find out next Tuesday if it completely healed. Mine is very small so docs say nothing to be worried about.
