Do a lot of men in their 20s say this, but they dont mean it?

If you’re dating a guy and he suddenly starts talking about how he used to think he wanted kids but now he’s not sure and has heard travelling the world and being child free is a good option in future, should you just dismiss these thoughts. I know I want kids in the future, but all my exes including the guy I’m dating always say things like this.

I wouldn't dismiss this and hang on waiting for them to change their minds. It's a waste or yours and their time. If they want to travel, they should. Some people may change their mind after they have done that but it's hard to tell.

I think it is pretty condescending to take the position that an adult doesn’t in fact know what they want in life. I’d believe him and if my goals didn’t line up with his, I’d move on
