Planned csection after emergency??

Question

Has anyone had a planned c section after an emergency one? How did the planned one differ?
My first birth was traumatic ended in an emergency section, horrible all around horrible recovery I’m super scared and have my planned one next Wednesday (vbac not an option for me)
Hoping to hear some positive stories about the planned one going better 🙏🏻

I had an emergency c section in 2021 and had a scheduled 1 month ago. Totally different, the scheduled was way more relaxed.
One week before surgery I received a phone call from a nurse and all of my pre surgery instructions. 
The day of my c-section I went to the hospital. After they admitted me they started my IV. At 10:30 the surgical team came down to get me. At this time they started IV antibiotics which everybody gets. I was wheeled down to the OR where I had to wait outside for a short time. I went into the OR alone at first where they did my spinal, Not an epidural. (My emergency I had an epidural and it took a long time to wear off. This time I had a spinal and I could wiggle my legs in recovery just 1hr post surgery.)
After the spinal was placed which did not take long at all, they inserted the catheter and started to prep me for surgery.
They checked that the freezing was working. And my husband came into the OR and joined me right by my head. 
I could actually see the surgery happening in the overhead light reflection which I thought was pretty cool but obviously not everyone would. Some of it I watch some of it I didn't. You definitely feel pressure and the hands of the surgeons but it's not painful. When the baby came out they held it up so I could see. Anesthesiologist remove the curtain a little bit. The baby was checked over by a pediatrician. Since the baby was healthy I actually got to hold her in the OR before handing her off to the nurses so they could do assessments. My husband went with the baby. I met up again with them in recovery. 
So The surgical team came to get me at 10:30 and the baby was out at 11:10. It was so fast! 
As for recovery, I was able to walk a lot faster after my scheduled C-section versus my emergency just due to the different routes of anesthesia that I got. 
Yes, recovery still sucks. It's very long. I have 2 weeks to go. Because I had experienced it once, recovery was a little bit better for me. I knew what I had to avoid. Do not stop taking the pain medication at least for a couple weeks. Make sure you take laxatives daily for like a month. 
All in all, I do think that my schedule cesarean was easier for me.

I did! My scheduled was very nice. I was more rested and aware of what was going on. With my first, I had worked in the morning and went into labor at work. My son was born at 3:25 in the morning by c-section. I was so out of it I didn’t even know they started, and suddenly he was crying. I remember parts of it but apparently not all of it.
My second was scheduled for 9 AM. I had to be there 2 hours early, plus shower so I was up early, but had a good night’s sleep. There was no rushing, I got prepped and then doc came in and we started. He actually asked me if he could make a second incision because he didn’t like where my first one was, and I agreed. So there was communication even on the table which was nice.
I will say I could feel more with my second. I never felt a thing with my first, but I think he was in the exact right spot. My second wasn’t down yet, so I could feel some tugging and pulling. It didn’t hurt, but I found it uncomfortable.
Overall (sorry for the long post), I loved my scheduled section. My hospital doesn’t offer VBACs due to the size of the hospital, but I wasn’t interested anyway. If I have a third, they will be a scheduled section as well. Best of luck to you mama!

Me! The planned one was more relaxing and I had an easier recovery. During the emergency c-section, I kept throwing up but, in the planned one, I didn’t have that issue at all. My nose was so itchy due to the spinal block in the planned but that eventually went away.

Very calm. We had music playing and had a nice banter with everyone in the OR. Overall a really nice and relaxed experience.
