I’m 25 weeks and got diagnosed with gestational diabetes 2 weeks ago.

I have a nurse I talk to every week to talk about my blood sugar from the previous week.

This week she put me on 20 units of insulin ( Lantus- long acting) once a day at night specifically because even though my during the day numbers are manageable, my fasting is typically around 104-111 i had 1 normal (93) and a 99.

Now this is day 3 with insulin- day 1 fasting was 109 and this morning (day 2) was 105. (Still high)

BUT my numbers during the day today were low(compared to last week when average was about 110-119)- lowest today was 85 2 hours after eating, highest was 98. My genuine concern is i tell my nurse and my nurse tells me to up the units, I’m worried about dropping too low during the day.

Any advice?
