Is my daughter “bad”?

Question

Today my brothers girlfriend and her son(9 months) came over for a visit. During this time my daughter(20 months) was trying to take toys out of his hands or tell him “no” which I instantly corrected, I didn’t just let her go on thinking it was okay to do so. 
During one of these times my daughter had said no, her son pulled my daughters hair and my brothers girlfriend laughed and said “sorry but that’s what she gets” then further on into the time together she was saying comments about how my daughter is “bad” and that she’s a “mean girl” but my daughter is almost 2…I thought these actions were normal for 2 year olds and as long as I was correcting her it was NORMAL behavior for her age. I’m now experiencing bad mom guilt. Am I raising her wrong? Did I go wrong with her?

you did the right thing by correcting her, she is not even 2. And I think the mom of the other kid is a bad mom cuz her kid pulled your girls hair and she did not correct him but just laughed, I would have been pissed….

No child is “bad” the way we label children as good and bad needs to stop. We label the behaviour not the child. 
Your child acted like a typical toddler. The baby acted like a baby end of story. 
Both parents needed to stop the behaviour and redirect. 
Children do not have the brain development needed to share, have empathy, impulse control, or self regulation. It’s our job model those things.

Normal behavior, she is a toddler and still learning. You did a great job at quickly correcting it. That’s all we can do right now, correct the behavior and model what is appropriate. She will soon learn her son will do the same things.

I'm 2 kids in with another coming, it's normal kid behavior at that age. Developmentally appropriate. You're doing right by correcting it and modeling for her. Who's not doing it right are the ones laughing at their kid ripping on her hair. Yea he's 9 months old and that's also normal, but they should be redirecting. Not laughing and encouraging.

Ummm no! Your daughter is at that age where she’s learning boundaries. That’s how she learns. 100% normal. 
Some ppl are just socially kind of weird and might not realize how you shouldn’t call other ppls kids “bad”, esp if the parent is already correcting the behavior. 
Her son is the one pulling hair and she’s not correcting, instead almost encouraging by laughing! This made me feel so mad reading. I know that had to be soooo annoying for you!
Wait til he’s your daughters age and others are calling him a bad boy and he deserves it if someone pushes him 🙄 so clueless

This is normal and she doesn’t need to hear them saying she’s “bad”. Don’t invite them over anymore since they can’t act maturely around a child.
