Last Tuesday I woke up to bleeding when I wiped. I was 36 weeks exactly. Thought maybe I was having a bloody show (?) Or losing my mucus plug. I called my Dr to be safe. Told to the closest ER since I'm high risk. After being monitored for a few hours they sent me back home after being given meds to stop/prevent contractions.

Had an appointment set up that week for my 36 week check and an ultrasound. Next morning I was still spotting. I ignored it because I was going to see my Dr anyway. But the following day I had a rush of blood when I stood up. Thought my water broke but was all just blood. So I went right back to the hospital. This time I was monitored overnight. Again given more meds to stop my contractions/hicks. Was given a large dose of antibiotics in case it was caused by infection and given steroid shots to strengthen babies lungs in case she was going to come early. After an ultrasound they could not find the cause of the bleeding and I was discharged in the morning. I used to have placenta Previa and then a low lying placenta but that looked resolved in the ultrasound. She was also breech.

My Dr was upset that I was released and told us to go to a different hospital that same day. Was admitted that night and the C-section was scheduled for the next morning. During the night I continued to have period like bleeding and passed a really large clot.

Baby girl was delivered via C-section at 10:04 in the morning weighing 5.8 lbs. 24 days early. 36 weeks and 4 days.

I had slight hemorrhaging but did not need a transfusion thankfully. Turns out, looks like my placenta was still low lying.
