Gassy baby never happy (HELP)

My LO is just shy of 6 months old. Ever since he was 2 weeks old he has been horribly gassy. Worse still, it smells. We had him on reflux meds, I've cut dairy from my diet, cut soy from my diet, and most recently have started pumping my first letdown out before he eats to make sure he's not getting too much foremilk. I give him gas drops multiple times a day. Nine times out of ten he grunts and whines and crunches up while he's eating, to the point where he cries and pulls off multiple times. Even when he gets gas out there's always more, and he's unhappy regardless. The only time he doesn't give me too much of a problem is right before bed and overnight because he's so sleepy. So I'm here looking for any other ideas as to what is causing it. Please help, I'm so mentally frayed from this experience.
