How do you go to marriage counseling with a 1 1/2 year old? We don’t have any friends, and no family in our area, no money for a babysitter or daycare. Can you bring children to marriage counseling with you?

I want to know before even suggesting marriage counseling to my husband (since lack of familial support is something that is greatly affecting our relationship).

Otherwise it will look like this.

Me: “I think that we could benefit from marriage counseling.”

Him: “oh yeah, how do you suggest we do that with a toddler and no one to take care of her? Don’t you think it’d be nice to have parents/grandparents who would visit her to spend time with her and take care of her? To help us with our marriage and make sure that we’re still taking care of each other and in love? Why don’t you tell your parents that??Marriage counseling. Think before you talk.” (His parents are dead and mine live 3 hours and 5 hours away).

Sooo can you take kids to marriage counseling if you have no one else to care for them while you go?
