Reading teenagers bedtime stories
I get judged A LOT that I read my almost 16 year old son bedtime stories. People have said my son is a mamas boy and they feel bad for his future wife. He's really not all that attached to me. He's very independent for a teen. How reading stories started was when he was 14 he started having nightmares. I don't believe that if you can't sleep you should get on your phone and watch TV since that's been proven it makes it HARDER to sleep. So I take my kids phones at night. He was pacing in the living room and I woke up to talk to him. I decided to try and read him a story instead. He used to be OBSESSED with Diary of a Wimpy kid in middle school so I decided to pull that book out and read it to him. And it helped a lot. So whenever he can't sleep he would wake me up and I read him something. We honestly started going to bed with a family story time. So many people find this weird but it helps a lot.
