Elective cesarean
I’m electing a cesarean this time around (we’re due in august) does anyone have any positive stories for me?
Story to why I’m electing this time:
My son is 19months now and my experience with him was hard! We was induced at 38 weeks because I had gestational diabetes and low-pappA and he was measuring big. Anyway after a 6 days of being induced I only got to 2cm! Was the longest week of my life, I was then put on a hormone drip, insulin drip and baby was being monitored for 24 hours (I was contracting every 3/4 minutes the entire time) and only dilated to 3 in that time. I couldn’t move as I had so many wires fast forward we ended up having an emergency section because nothing was progressing and I was absolutely shattered!
I was banking on not having gestational diabetes again however I do! So the elective cesarean is what I knew was going to happen if I had it as I would never go through the mental trauma as last time, and leaving my son for a week (possibly) again would kill me. Im already getting upset thinking about leaving him for a few days to have this baby so a week would break me. Praying for a quicker recovery this time too! As my sons dad went back to work after 7days first time as he took the first week of me being induced as paternity leave (his work made him) so I was on my own to fully care for our boy which I believe delayed my recovery time! This time his new job have said he can have paternity leave when baby is born and he has 1/2 weeks holiday he can add on if he needs it which with having a 21 month old will be incredibly helpful in my recovery!
Praying I’m making the right decision 🤞🏼
