3rd baby???

Question

Has anyone debated having a third baby- did you do it? Did you not? Are you happy with your choice? I always thought we’d be done at 2 but something in me just doesn’t feel finished. Im not sure if it’s because I’m mourning the idea I’ll never be pregnant again and never have a tiny newborn again.. I feel torn

We're done at two. Before I was pregnant with my 2nd we'd always thought we'd at least have 3 if not 4. This pregnancy was harder and I had some issues postpartum as well. Add on postpartum depression/anxiety and that was it for me. I felt done while I was still pregnant too though. That was before she was born and now I'm 8 months pp and husband has a vasectomy scheduled. We both love the idea of giving our two undivided attention. My best friend is a middle child and always talks about how she always felt left out. I've heard Numero people say have either 2 or 4 but don't recommend 3. Not to say you can't make 3 work. I think you have to base it on how you feel personally. If you don't feel done, you don't have to be. Just wait a few years and see.

Only you can answer this question, but a national survey in the US from 2019 found that 60% of older adults regret not having more kids. In a decade or two, would you regret not having a 3rd?
