How many ultrasounds do you normally get?

Hi mamas, I’m 11 weeks today and had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks to make sure baby is in the right place and hear the heart beat, everything looked great. (Thankfully, it’s my first baby!!) so now my OB won’t do another ultrasound until 20weeks, it seems so far so I wanted to see if everyone else has the same situation. This 2 ultrasound standard is the same protocol where I am from too. They will only do an earlier scan at i.e. 7/8 weeks if you have no idea when your last period was/very irregular cycles to make sure they know approx how far along you are. I ended up having bi-weekly US in my 3rd trimester due to it becoming a higher risk pregnancy, otherwise I would have had no more past the 20w scan if i was low risk

I had them once a month until I was 8 months, then it was every week until I was induced at 38 weeks.

Around here they are done approximately around weeks 8, 12, 20 and 34 for a normal healthy pregnancy and more if there are any issues.

I think normally it's 2. I had 3 with my first because there was a concern and 3 with my second just because my Dr had the time to give me an extra one. I'll probably only have 2 this time.

I’m slightly high risk this time so I’ll be having a few. In my past pregnancies I got one around 7/8 weeks for dating, 12/13 nuchal scan, and 18/20 anatomy scan! That was it! 
So far this pregnancy I had one at 6 weeks to check bleeding at the ER, 7w5d for dating, and 12 weeks for nuchal scan. I have another scheduled at 18 weeks and 22 weeks at the high risk clinic, I don’t know if my regular OB will do anymore. High risk clinic also mentioned a third trimester scan. So quite a few!

Had one at 6, 8, 10, 12. Won’t have another until 20. As much as it sucks to not see the little one having a lot of ultrasounds can also mean higher risk.

Hey there! I also did the same thing with my current pregnancy, I got a scan at 7 weeks to confirm ‘viability’ of pregnancy but once I got into my midwife I have now, I’ve had an ultrasound at 10 weeks just so they could confirm the pregnancy themselves, and another a little after 12 weeks for the nuchal scan! The Nuchal scan is supposedly outdated though and isn’t completely accurate so I don’t think it’s entirely necessary especially if you do NIPT blood tests for genetic abnormalities. I won’t have another scan until 20 weeks as well now! Mamas with healthy pregnancies do get to see their babies less than those that are high risk usually. I know it’s probably so frustrating but thank god (or whatever you believe in!) for a healthy baby! 🥰❤️

It depends. I was risk so i had well over 10 ultrasounds with my last but healthy pregnancies get 3 to 4.
