I’ve never been in this situation before. I’ve just got out of a very long relationship (over 8 years) last year, and I’m still in the process of getting my life back. There’s this guy that works down the street from where I live, & he likes me a lot.

I ran into him the other day & he asked me out, but I told him we can just hangout as friends, and he said okay. Ever since I gave him my number he’s been texting me super early in the morning, and throughout the day. I’m never ever someone who wants to lead a person on, because I know that feeling myself.

When we planned to go out, I had to make it clear again that we were only going out as friends, and he said “sure”. Another issue besides me not looking for someone, is that he reminds me so much of my nephew & I can’t get that out of my head. He texted me today asking could we take a walk & I told him I was working late (which is true). He’s a very nice guy, but I’m just not interested in even talking to someone, but because he’s so nice I said I’ll hangout with him once just to let him know why I’m not interested, but we can be cordial.

Am I doing anything wrong? Because right now I feel terrible & like I’m about to hurt someone, which is something I don’t want to do. Should I be going about this in a different way?
