should i give up on my husband of 8 years?

we been together 8 years..about 2 years ago one of his family members made a horrible accusation about him and our relationship went down hill since..we were on and off but finally made a decicion to live separately..he left a few months ago..but we were still on and off trying to make it work..he is my husband and i love him very much..right now we trying to make it work but he does not want to be in a relationship which i dont understand because how is that we try but not be together? if that makes sense..we dont spend time together he comes to see me only when i tell him to come over but only stays for an hour..

he has admitted that he talks to some female friends and has social media..something that we did not do when we was in an actual relationship..i do feel like maybe he is talking to someone new..because he is just so distant and cold and makes comments like "we shouldnt be our priority" iam not here to make u happy or make u feel special..iam grown if i want to go out by myself i will"

"just because iam married to u does not mean i have to please you" he as also said that if iam looking for someone that would fully have his attention on me and nothing else that he is not the right one that is not all about me...he does not want me to depend on him basically.

this weekend he is going to his brother bday party in another state and he refused to take me..his excuse was that he didnt want no problems with that family member that made the accusation..but i said that it had happened 2 years ago and at the end of the day its just me and u and that is when he said "well we dont live together for me to bring u here"..so iam really heartbroken..i hate to throw all these years..but he is not giving me no choice..i dont want a marriage where he is out alone partying or not taking me to family gatherings etc..and to be honest iam looking for him to show me he loves me..i do want his attention..i do want to be his priority...or is something really wrong with me?

You’re looking for him to show you he loves you, but if anything, he’s showing you he doesn’t. This isn’t even a marriage. File for divorce.

First of all, there’s nothing wrong with u! Secondly, yes, it honestly sounds like it’s time to let him & this marriage go. U have given him more than enough time to make it work. He’s obviously not as invested in it at this point as u are, and continuing to hang on in hopes that he will be is just hindering u from moving on with ur life. Get a divorce. Grieve the end of the marriage. Focus on yourself & doing things u enjoy. Go to therapy during this time if need be. And, move on to better & happier times! Life is too short to sit around & wait for something/someone to change.
