Was I wrong?

My husband went to his best mates house. I was invited but declined due to my 5 month old being unsettled and because of that, i got a headache. My husband took our eldest child. Their mutual friend and his family also went, who i don't know. My husband text me to say his best friend was angry at me not going because now their friend's wife is left sitting on her own. Well i'm sorry but ur playing host and her husband shouldn't of left her to sit on her own in the first place. If the men wanted to have a get together, they should of arranged it for themselves. I do feel guilty because she's on her own but again, why should i? I highly doubt i will be invited again.. sadly our friends wife passed away late last year so if she was there, well it wouldn't matter so much, but because she's gone it of course has changed things.. i feel bad but at the same time i shouldn't be invited because the wife is attending as well.. Was i wrong? and have a strong sense that there's gonna be a massive row between me and my husband. Which i want to avoid right now.
