Husband freaks out when our bank account dips

My husband freaks and panics when his bank account balance gets “low” and he starts saying we are poor, we aren’t gonna make it through the month (we always do), we can’t buy anything because we don’t have the funds say for example $20 swimsuit for our daughter we don’t have the money so I have to wait to buy it when I get paid

When I ask how much is in your account he says $7,300 but I can’t go lower than that sorry 😢

I pay 80% of the bills, groceries, stuff for the kids I’m not complaining I just don’t understand why he is like this
