Can I say no to seeing a dietitian?
I am currently 28 wks pregnant with baby #2. First pregnancy I saw a dietitian and she was okay. I was able to keep my after meal numbers under 120 and my fasting was the only issue. Ended up taking 25 units a night till I was induced to keep it under 95. This time around same thing, after meal numbers are under 120 (I even started losing weight and was told to gain it) and same issue with fasting being my problem. This time around I am now up to 100 units to keep my fasting low. Last time I saw my dietitian was in April and learned nothing new from the previous months visit. All she says is if your fasting isn’t going down, increase your insulin. Now my doctor wants me to see the dietitian frequently from now till I’m induced. I work full time with little PtO due to needing it for the monthly and soon to be weekly ultrasounds. My job is not that flexible with scheduling either. (My job is not stressful which is why I enjoy it) . I don’t feel like seeing my dietitian would be helpful since it’s my fasting number is the issue and not my after meal numbers. Especially when I know all she’s going to say is increase my nighttime insulin. Am I allowed to tell my doctor that I don’t want to see the dietitian?
