Does breastfeeding HELP you lose weight?

Is there a specific breastfeeding duration that has a stronger effect on weight loss than others? Does the amount of breast milk produced play a role in weight loss?

For some women it can, but it can also lead to weight gain, for me I get super hungry when breastfeeding, which makes me want to eat more, so if I’m not careful I can gain more weight. Everyone is different, sometimes pregnancy messes with your metabolism, others may not be affected.

I gained 15 lbs when i was breastfeeding because i had supply issues so i was eating lactation cookies and cake and pie to keep my supply up.

I was ravenous during breastfeeding, so I was eating so much more. The weight would stay off while I breastfed but as soon as I decided to stop I gained just as fast

With my first I lost a lot of weight, but I was also working full time on my feet and very active. With my second and third child I was not as active and did not lose weight as fast as I did with my first. Will be doing things differently after my 4th is here.
