IUD causing irregular periods?

So a little background, I’ve had a Lyletta IUD since June 2019 and it’s supposed to last 5ish years. Before I got the IUD I was on birth control pills on and off and have never ever been irregular or had inconsistent periods. The first three years I had my IUD were great, my periods were regular, always on time and the PMS symptoms I have (cramping, mood swings) calmed down. About a year and a half to two years ago my periods started getting incredibly irregular, ranging anywhere from 2 days early to 20 days late every single month, they’d either be a couple days and so heavy I’d be going through a tampon in an hour or 8+ days and so light I didn’t have to use anything at all as well as ending after so many days and then start bleeding again a few days after I stop. None of this has ever happened before, I went to the doctor and she said sometimes things just happen and sent me away. My mood swings and cramps started coming back and now I notice myself getting almost irrationally angry at everything especially around the time I should be PMSing, like say something in the wrong tone and I’m pissed the rest of the day. I went back to the doctor who originally put in my IUD and she said she didn’t believe anything was wrong and I should just go to counseling for the mood swings. I feel like I am going crazy has this happened to anyone or do y’all have any advice? At this point I’ve started considering just getting it removed and staying off birth control for a few months to see if things chill out and get back to normal
