Bf has shitty friends

Hi everyone,

It’s my bfs bday soon. He’s not one to have lots of friends but he rly appreciates the ones he does have. He invited his friend who’s out of state to come visit us for his bday since we live in a pretty cool state. He informed him about this months prior. His friend delays buying his ticket till last min but supposedly he does buy it. Couple days later he hits my bf up saying he’s not sure if he can make it (money issues?). I consider myself to be a great friend and if I committed to plans with a friend I would start budgeting my money after I had said yes. I feel pretty bad for my bf as he doesn’t have any friends in this new state. I wanted him to have a great time with me, another one of my friends who’s coming and his “best friend”. I made lots of plans with my own friend since we agreed that my bf wanted to catch up with his bestie. I feel like now I’ll make my friend feel like the 3rd wheel if his friend doesn’t end up coming. I also feel bad for my bf as it’s not his fault. Idk how to properly deal with this, I really despise inconsiderate ppl 🥺
