Mamas are y’all waiting to purchase baby items??

My baby shower is August 12th but I really want to go ahead and start purchasing off my baby registry now . I haven’t got a lot of people purchasing and I don’t want to wait . My mom keeps telling me just wait till the baby shower but idk I don’t want to purchase everything last min depending on just baby shower gifts. Especially since people aren’t really buying anything from my registry.. Have y’all started buying things??

I bought all of my big ticket items prior to the shower. So bassinet, crib, swing, car seat, double stroller, etc. I knew those things wouldn’t be purchased and I felt much more at ease knowing if baby were to come at least I had those things waiting on him. I’m glad I did because now the shower came and went and I specifically only asked for clothes, diapers, wipes, books, etc. Now the only things I have left to get are a play mat, more swaddles, more burp cloths, pacifiers of choice, bottles of choice, bathtub insert, bottle warmer and a baby carrier.

My baby shower is the same date! I bought some newborn stuff like onesies socks, bodysuits, and a few outfits for hospital but hubby wants to wait till baby shower to purchase anything else

I definitely bought some things before the shower. Mostly clothes, diapers, swaddles, formula and bottles. I ended up going through a lot of onesies, swaddles and bottles with baby number 1.

I would wait! My baby shower is this weekend and not many people have purchased stuff off my registry yet, my guess is people aren’t super organised and wait till the last minute to purchase gifts. I’m just holding off until after the shower before I buy any more stuff. Up to you though!!

This is the reason why I had my baby shower at 28 weeks! So I had plenty of time to get whatever I didn’t get from my baby shower! Now I’m almost 31 weeks and I have all the big stuff, just need a few small things

I bought most of the stuff only because I’m doing a diaper/wipe shower. I also have majority of baby stuff due to have both genders already.  I would go ahead and buy whatever you want even if baby shower is happening. It’s fun to do so.
