PPROM at 28 weeks success story

Werdah

I wanted to share my PPROM story with my third pregnancy so that i can possibly give hope to any mama going through this looking for positive stories. At 11:38 pm i felt a tickle befoe going to bed byt didnt think anything of it and at 3 am i woke up to a big gush and my husband and I raced to the ER. Come to find out after a few tests thay my water broke. I was then told i would most likely start labor and have my daughter in 24 hrs at 28 weeks. I obviously freaked out and then got the steroid injections for her lungs. As the day went on i had no contractions and was admitted to a high risk hospital. After 24 hours of no labor and my daughter showing no signs of stress or harm they told me i would have her within the week. We then tentativelyprepared all the paperwork and i was given the rundown of whay reality would be like with a 28 week old baby. It was so scary. But then 1 week turned to 2 weeks. Then 2 weeks to 3 weeks. Then 3 weeks to 6 weeks. My baby persevered. She stayed 6 weeks in my womb and i had at at 35 weeks. I had her at 35 weeks because i had started bleeding and doctors decided that this was now her grand entrance. 43 days without water. She had no issues whatsoever (thanks to The Almighty) and stayed 1 week in NICU for observation. The only thing that i did was bed rest and washing myself daily if not twice a day to decrease the risk of infection. Other than that i was on 1 round of 7 day antibiotics at 28 weeks and that was it. I didnt even know it was possible to make it to 35 weeks but its possible. We arent sure what caused my rupture. It wasnt labour but it was something. We assumed it was my daughter who ripped in from the inside herself. Such a drama queeb from the beginning. So if anyone is going through this and is scared know there is a possibility of making it almost to fullterm.
