Free reverse phone number search?

I just got a text from someone out of state and I have no clue who it is. I don't know anyone from that state. I don't want to reply in case it's spam or something. It doesn't seem spammy. It just said "hey, it's been a while. How have you been". I tried looking up the number and nothing came up with any info or any spam alert things. Every website I've tried won't give you the name unless you pay. I just don't answer calls or respond to text from numbers I don't know, so I'm wanting to figure it out without asking them. There is no one I can possibly think of whos number it could be, unless it's someone from high school or something, but I've gotten a new number since then, so no one from HS would have my new number.

It's most likely a wrong number. Reply and ask who it is if you really need to know.

I get texts like these and they’re spam. Spammers waiting for me to reply to then make convo and get info or money or both. 
If they really want to talk, they’ll call or you can just say “sorry, who’s this?” And see what they say.

Just don’t reply then. If they really want to talk to you they can text again. It’s likely a wrong number.

It could be a text for the person who had this number before you. Its been 2 years and my sister still gets texts for the pervious owner (who happens to have my name so for awhile we were confused haha). Honestly i wouldnt reply personally but you could simply just ask.
