What are some other factors besides pain management that could influence someone's decision to have a natural or epidural childbirth? Can you share any personal experiences or perspectives related to these factors?

I’ve only given birth once without epidural. Don’t know any different other than the fact childbirth is intense. But our bodies are made for it and we can handle it! 
My sister had both and said she preferred without because with the epidural, she couldn’t tell when to push or if she was pushing, and others complain of having to get a catheter.

I’ve had three unmedicated births but I also went into labor naturally. I hear being induced makes it way harder to control yourself as contractions are so much more intense. 
That being said I actually enjoy giving birth without pain medication. Does it hurt? Yes! Can you get through it? Yes! We were built for it. I find being in tune with my body and listening to my natural instincts helps with labor, and focusing on each wave ( contraction) and breathing and relaxing your body and letting it out.

I have experienced both, I loved the fact with the epidural I was able to relax and sleep. But I always hated getting the epidural because I always felt everything for some reason. And with my first I ended up with a spinal headache and with my second I hated the feeling afterwards. With my third I ended up going natural on purpose and in a way without choice. They took to long to check on me. It was painful but I managed but looking back I liked I was able to feel when to push and after birth I was feeling great. I was able to walk around I was the only one actually on my floor that was. I hated the pain but I was going to try natural again. Also there is a small chance I could end up going natural again due to me living in a small town and the hospital is small which is how I ended up going natural last time.

I’ve had both. In my experiences the epidural with my furry made the experience more relaxing whereas with my second I did natural and it was painful and awful. I was planning on epidural the second time but because baby came too fast I had no choice. I plan on being there early for this third baby. I also had preeclampsia and HELLP at labor and delivery with my second baby and I feel like it’s because of the pain and shock I was in even though I don’t medically know if that’s true.
