At a loss with potty training!!

Ok ladies. Im a single mom, who works full time too.

So my son just turned 3 and I’ve been trying to potty train him for a few months now (I started later for a variety of reasons).

He seems to take his time with all of these milestones (started walking later etc) so I wasnt in a rush since I know he will eventually get there..

But man! Potty training!! 😅 Ive tried all of the methods out there and nothing seems to work. He sees his potty as a toy lol… and only sits on it with his clothes on. I try to show him that he needs to pull his pants/pulls ups down.. but he just doesnt understand what the toilet is for and Im not sure he really gets it when im explaining😅😅😅😅

He sees his peers in daycare go and seems curious there, but it only lasts so long lol.

His speech is getting better so im hoping when he can better tell me that he can go, that might help..??
