Need advice
Y’all, I’m so torn on what to do and need some advice. Background, I had three missed miscarriages, sought fertility treatment and had a successful iui pregnancy, started trying for a second when that kiddo was 1, had three chemicals (one from iui) before moving on to IVF. I did a retrieval May 2021 which resulted in 12 embryos and 2 tested genetically normal. First didn’t thaw right, second ended in a chemical. Second retrieval December 2021 resulted in 8 embryos, again 2 cleared genetics and both transfers were chemicals. I switched doctors, had a very different protocol and just did a third retrieval (July 23) but unfortunately only resulted in 1 embryo which is too low quality to even test much less transfer. This last retrieval was awful and I had lots of complications including abdominal bleeding that landed me in the hospital.
I feel like not so much time has passed between the 2nd and 3rd retrieval to have no embryos this time. I’m not sure if complications impacted the quality but the doctor won’t really comment. I now have insurance that covers fertility, so without cost as a factor, do I try another retrieval? I’m 39, and feel like I’m running out of time. I have mild PCOS and stage 1 endo treated surgically last year.
