That's so horrible and disrespectful to the deceased. You did the right thing. If she finds out it's not you who she should be upset with. She should be upset that her husband would do something like that.
I reported my brother in law
He’s a cop in a big city and was told to go to a scene where a body was found. He offered to send pictures in the family chat! It HAS to be illegal for responding officers to take personal photos of a scene, let alone the body. I’m so scared my sister will find out it was me that reported it.
Edit: I wish people would actually read what I said before responding. I said it was not his first time doing this, therefore it will not be his last. He’s 2 for 2 on taking photos of the bodies he’s responded to. I’m not going to warn him I’m going to report because then everyone would know who it was. Also, it’s fucking illegal!

She will definitely not be happy with her sister. Especially if her and her husband have children. She will be causing that family to suffer financially because she did not first speak to them and tell them why what he is doing is wrong. Some people are ignorant to what they are doing wrong. A loving family member would not do this.

I believe, perhaps you should have said something to him and the family about how you feel before reporting it. Explain why it’s disrespectful & that you will report it if it continues because it is unprofessional. Family matters should be dealt with care before you go out of your way to cause him to potentially lose his job. Your sister will not be happy with you after that, she will tell you that you should have said something to them first.
