How to prepare to bounce back after pregnancy?
I'm not currently pregnant. I don't intend on having a baby for 3-4 years yet. However, I want to know the best things I can do for my body in the meantime in order to bounce back quickly postpartum. I obviously have several years to prepare so I'm in no rush. I don't currently workout but I eat very healthy and I'm at a good weight. But I know pregnancy can cause weight gain and many women just don't have the time or energy to really work on themselves the way they could before having a baby, after pregnancy. I anticipate this'll be me 😅😂.
So far the best thing I've heard is to do lots of core workouts and pelvic floor exercises to help shape and strengthen the muscles for during and after pregnancy. I was wondering if that's true, or if there are other things I should also be working on while I've got the time and energy? How does pregnancy affect your abdominal muscles? Can they go back to how they were? Is cardio important?
I'm very excited to have children one day but I'm very self conscious about how I look already and I'm honestly terrified about even BEING pregnant let alone what my body will be like after a few kids.
