Hello, I recently started taking metformin (August 9) for treatment of PCOS. My periods have always been long and irregular. I typically bleed heavy for two weeks straight and spot for a couple weeks. Since I started taking metformin I have had a heavy bleed constantly. It’s starting to get frustrating as I started taking it to improve my symptoms. I know it’s still early and I have only been taking for a little over a month but I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar while taking metformin? If so do these side effects work themselves out? Should I give it a couple more months before reaching out to my doctor?
