Would you move in after a month?

Question

If you've known someone for years before starting to date, would you move in with them within a month of "dating"? Would your decision change or be the same if you had kids? 🤔🤔

Answer

Having experience in that particular situation, I will say that doing so is a poor choice (and for me, will never happen again). ￼We didn't have children when we did it, but now that I have my daughter, I would be even more cautious about it. ￼

My first reaction is absolutely not, but I married the man I’ve been with since I was 15. I never dated as an adult so I don’t know the “rules” lol. I would move in before getting married though, that’s for sure. 
My husband and I have two kids. Our marriage is great and we have no plans of ever getting divorced, but we have discussed some things regarding the kids and we’ve both agreed if we ever get divorced we won’t be bringing our children around every new relationship we have unless it’s actually getting serious. We both know people who bring their days-weeks long boyfriends/girlfriends around their kids and it’s like no. What the fuck are you doing. The one girl left her toddler with her boyfriend of only two weeks while she went to work and the baby got out the front door and was found three blocks away. She’s still with him🙄 I wouldn’t move my children and myself in with a new man after only a month of dating, regardless of how long we knew each other beforehand.

Absolutely not. Especially if either has kids. It’s way too soon and too large a commitment for a brand new relationship.
