How early is too early?

So I am 4 days late on my period, I’ve tested a few times but all negative. My first two pregnancies I always tested negative at home but as soon as I did bloodwork they showed up. When should I test again or should I just do bloodwork?

Blood tests are rarely used as a way to confirm pregnancy. Most providers won’t order a confirmatory blood test unless they feel there’s a medical reason to do so. Most HPT’s are very reliable on the first day of a missed period, so it’s definitely not too early, especially if you’re already late. You likely ovulated later than expected, which pushes back the onset of your period or a potential BFP! I’d just give it a few days and retest at home!
