C section postpartum blues
I think I’m doing better now, aside from the sleep deprivation, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had similar experiences to me.
I am a FTM, gave birth to my son 8 weeks ago via planned c-section at 39 weeks (this was due to his size). In the beginning I struggled to bond with him, I had feelings of he wasn’t really mine, and not really being a mom. I can only assume the hormones played a big part in that but also wondering if having him cut from me and not experiencing the traditional birth pains is to blame. I loved being pregnant (after getting over the morning sickness), his delivery was not anything at all I had planned for, at 37 weeks was when we were told we would have a c section at 39 weeks, so it took awhile to process that, and then the surgery itself was just a weird sensation. It took probably close to 5-6 weeks for these feelings to mostly disappear.
