Meconium or echogenic

My 20 weeks anatomy scan was totally normal down syndrome was normal nothing to be worried about 28 weeks ultrasound they saw a bowel movement which my dr said could be meconium stained so she wasn’t sure about it but she also told me it could be echogenic ..

So today at my 29 weeks ultrasound they saw something and didn’t tell me until my dr share the report but I was just wondering and scared what it could be and what does it mean to my baby ?

Is it safe for her to stay in meconium ?

If anatomy scan was normal then is it possible to show baby having Down syndrome later in ultrasound

Someone please help I am so worried

So I have no idea in your case, but my daughter had meconium in her waters at birth and needed a little bit of breathing support immediately after delivery and a very short nicu stay to clear up her lungs and prevent a lung infection. She’s almost 2 now and perfectly healthy with no residual issues. It was definitely hard seeing her need support at birth but it was only 2 days and we got to go home together in the end

Oh I am glad …I heard lots of stories during labor it happens and it’s still easier to figure things out but I am 29 weeks pregnant and baby has meconium stained 🥹

This probably has nothing to do with Down’s syndrome. I am not a medical professional but from google, i think they found something abnormal inside baby. It could be just poop but it could be something else. The “echogenic area” is just an area that reflected lighter than they expect to see. Just wait for more info from your dr first, if they aren’t worried try not worry yourself.

Okay thank u ….. I was just too worried and I didn’t know what did I do to cause distress to my baby since my first baby he was totally fine and didn’t have any issues and my dr won’t see my until Oct 10 that’s why I just couldn’t wait and was crying whole day
